Hair Cleaning
It's difficult to clean hair stuck to the floor, right? Vacuuming every time can be a hassle... In that case, take an old toilet paper roll, put several rubber bands around it, and simply rub it across the floor or bed. The hair will stick to the rubber bands!
Cleaning Window Frames
When cleaning window frames, the vacuum nozzle might be too large to suck everything up properly. In this case, you can easily make a vacuum nozzle using the toilet paper roll! This can also be used for cleaning gaps in sofas or cushions!
When Scissors Become Sticky
After cutting tape or other sticky materials, scissors may get sticky and no longer cut well. In that case, apply expired sunscreen to the blades, give it a few snips, and wipe it off. The scissors will work like new! (Expired sunscreen is good for 6-12 months, so you probably have some from last year...)
When You Want to Drink a Cold Beverage Quickly
When you buy a beer or drink from the store and want to cool it down quickly before your delivery arrives, you can wrap a kitchen towel soaked in water around the can or bottle, then place it in the freezer for about 15 minutes. This cools the beverage much faster than just placing it in the freezer! If you don't have a kitchen towel, you can also use wet wipes.
Removing Parking Ticket Stickers Cleanly
Parking tickets are frustrating enough, but the sticky residue is even worse... To remove it cleanly, spray some bug repellent (like ‘Afkill’) onto the sticker, let it soak a bit, and then gently peel it off. The sticker will come off without any sticky residue!
Cutting Multiple Cherry Tomatoes at Once
Cutting cherry tomatoes one by one for a salad can be annoying, right? In this case, place several tomatoes between two thin lids and slice through them in one go. It’s fast and neat!
Reviving Smelly Sponges
When sponges used for washing dishes, car cleaning, or bathroom cleaning start to smell and don’t clean well anymore, soak them in vinegar, then heat them in the microwave for one minute. The acid from the vinegar combined with the heat kills germs and makes the sponge like new!
Drilling Holes in Walls
When you need to drill holes in the wall to hang a picture or for decoration, wall dust flies everywhere. You can avoid this mess by simply placing a sticky note underneath. (If you’re renting, make sure to consult with your landlord before drilling into the walls!)
Storing Onions for Longer
Onions can go bad quickly if you buy too many at once. To keep them fresh for months, place them in a pair of old stockings and hang them up like in the picture. They’ll stay good for up to five months!
Making Transparent Ice
When you want to make clear ice at home for your drinks, regular tap water makes ice that’s cloudy. This happens because of the air in the water. To make clear ice, boil the water first, then freeze it. The result will be crystal-clear ice!
